Our last day as a family of 4

Today is the last day we will be a family of 4 and only girls (other than B-Daddy of course). Tomorrow morning I go in to be induced to have baby number 3! I have to call tomorrow at 5:30am to see if they have a bed for me. I pray they do. With El (#2) they didn't and I had to wait till they called me back to go in. She came quick though, which I was thankful for since my epidural didn't work. I was only in labor with her for 4 hours total. It took Em (#1) 8 hours. So he should only take 2 hours!! HA!

Here is a picture I took the other day of EL in Em's tutu! She loves to dress up!

We started with Em, taking pictures next to their bed the day before or morning of. Here is the picture in front of Beau's bed with the girls.

I always did a belly shot also. El wanted to kiss my belly. She was laughing the whole time.

Pass it Down

Here is one of the devotionals I got today. It is a good reminder of what we as parents need to do to pass on our faith. It was from the "Moments With You" by Dennis Rainey.

I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you should go.Psalm 32:8 NASB

How can you tell if the spiritual-sounding words coming out of your children's mouths are evidence of a true faith?

The fact is, you may not really know until they're somewhat older, because most children are clever enough to say what they know Mom and Dad want to hear. It often takes some severe testing to determine the veracity of your children's faith, and that doesn't usually happen until they're well along in their teen years, perhaps even college-age or older.

Our children began to have their faith tested in middle school. They started coming home with questions like, "What does the Bible say about evolution?" or "What does God think about being gay?" We had many lively discussions at the dinner table as I played devil's advocate to help them think through their beliefs. That's when they began to discover truth on their own from Scripture.

I don't know how to emphasize enough the importance of this kind of training. Depending upon whose research numbers you believe, the rate of young adults who abandon the faith of their parents is somewhere in the 50- to 80-percent range. We're talking about a major problem.
If we are to avoid the fate of many other nations where Christianity has dwindled into irrelevance, it must begin in homes like yours. Your children can only hitchhike on your faith for so long. You must constantly be looking ahead to the day when you release them to take their own journey of Christian belief.

May we raise children to invade and infiltrate the twenty-first century, not with faith standards blindly adopted from their parents, but with biblical beliefs honed into convictions.

This Old House!

I don't have any before pictures, we forgot to get them before they started tearing up our kitchen. We got granite put into the kitchen, tile back splash and new single bowl porcelain sink. They started on Thursday and was finished with everything on Saturday. We are so pleased. I just love the color of the granite and the look of the back splash. I really like my single bowl sink!

The next step is the touch up paint the cabinets. The granite doesn't cover as much as the Formica on the front side of the cabinets. We are going to take down the wall paper and paint, and get new knobs and pull, and switch plates for the cabinets. Right now we have the American theme going. I have red checkered wall paper with a cute border. Some of the wall paper got messed up and I am not doing it over. We will have to decided on a color to paint the kitchen. B-Daddy wanted to take all that down anyway so it won't be a problem when we sell our house. Some people can't see past wall color. My entry is Red and I just love it, but that will have to go also.

Here are some picture of the kitchen when they were in the process.

Here is the finished product.
